Alderney prides itself on offering excellent education through the island school and various pre-school playgroups. Between these, children have access to education on Alderney from the age of 2 to 16. Parents often appreciate the smaller class sizes in Alderney and children benefit from the one-to-one teaching approach that results from this.
Visiting children are welcome at the pre-school play groups. This gives parents a great opportunity to see the provision at close hand during their visits to the island.
Depending on parents’ preferences, children generally continue their education on Guernsey. Grammar School and College education is available after the age of 11. Free further education, including A levels, is available after the age of 16.
